Just when I think the short-lived craze for iPod clothing has come to an end, news comes in of a joint venture between men’s tailoring company Bagir and ElekTex, maker of touch-sensitive smart fabrics, the result of which is the iPod suit for men.

The Bagir suit jacket integrates Eleksen’s ElekTex smart fabric touchpad technology, which transforms a lapel into a 5-button electronic control panel. The iPod Suit is claimed to be fashionable (that’s open to question) and functional (if functional means having music in your inside pocket). But on a more positive note, it’s machine-washable and wrinkle-resistant, so ideal for day-to-day use in the office.

The iPod Suit will be available in five styles and should be in the shops from November, with a reasonable retail price of £149.
