200 Million Firefox Downloads and Counting

Mozilla is celebrating its 200 millionth Firefox download, though it acknowledges that number doesn’t represent the actual number of users, not everyone completes the download and it must include a fair number of upgraders, nevertheless it is an impressive achievement for a browser that has only been around for less than three years (the first release, codenamed ‘Phoenix, was in September 2003).

If you’re interested in contributing to the browser’s future development then Mozilla is looking for volunteers to join its Firefox User Panel, which will involve filling out a number of surveys on how people interact with the web.
