Sony launches 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo
Sony has announced its biggest Memory Stick yet – the 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo, the latest addition to a range that also includes the Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, Memory Stick Pro High Speed and Memory Stick Micro. And just to avoid any problems with compatability, all Memory Stick media now come with an adaptor to enable use with standard size Memory Stick compatible devices – as well as the Duo size compatible products.
To illustrate the capacity of the 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo media, Sony reckons it will store up to 1000 MP3 songs, 3000 digital photos in 5 megapixel resolution or more than 9 hours of MPEG-4 video. The new Sticks are also one-third the size and half the weight of the standard-size Memory Stick cards, offer a minimum write speed of 15Mb/s and have a five-year warranty
The 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo and adaptor will be available soon, costing around £115.
