Panasonic has launched three compact digital cameras in the form of the 6 megapixel Lumix DMC-FX3 and the 7.2 megapixel Lumix DMC-FX50 and DMC-FX07.

The DMC-FX3 features a 2.5-inch LCD 3x optical zoom and an f/2.8 Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens, along with Mega O.I.S.(optical image stabiliser), which compensates for hand-shake, ensuring that your image is as sharp as possible and free of blur. In addition, a maximum sensitivity setting of ISO 1600 reduces image blur caused by subject movement.

There’s a shutter release time lag of only 0.006 sec. and a shutter interval of 0.7 sec, which means in burst shooting mode, it’s possible to shoot at three frames per second in full resolution, with unlimited consecutive shooting up to the capacity of your SD card. It also offers motion recording at 30 fps in 16:9 wide VGA, 16 scene modes and 13.5MB built-in memory to get you going.

The Lumix DMC-FX50 and DMC-FX07 have an almost identical specification – the main difference being the LCD screen – the FX50 has a 3-inch screen, while the FX07 downsizes to a 2.5-inch display. However, both feature a 28mm wide angle f/2.8 Leica DC lens with 3.6x optical zoom and again feature Panasonic’s MEGA O.I.S., along with Intelligent ISO Control.

Both cameras have a shutter release time lag of 0.005 sec,. and a shutter interval of 0.5 sec. Like the FX3, in burst shooting mode, this allows three frames per second in full resolution and unlimited consecutive shooting up to your card’s  capacity. There’s also the option of recording full-size movies in wide-aspect VGA (848×480) at 30 fps, up to 18 scene modes and if you like your maritime adventures, the FX07 is compatible with a marine case for underwater life snaps.

The DMC-FX50 will be available in silver and black, the FX07 in silver, black, red and blue, each with a specially textured finish.

We haven’t got release dates or prices for either of the new models, we’ll confirm when we here more.
