Motorola has launched a special edition red version of the super skinny SLVR handset as part of a campaign to help fight AIDs, tuberculosis and malaria. The campaign, launched in association with Saint Bono’s humanitarian venture, Product Red, will see a portion of profits from the sale of the handset, plus a portion of the call charges go to The Global Fund to eliminate AIDs in Africa. Gap, Converse, Armani and American Express are all in on the act as well, creating special red editions of their products to raise money for the fund.

It’s available right now in the UK, and you can join the waiting list if you’re not in the UK but still want to purchase the phone.
