The 64GB USB flash drive

Don’t think your current pocket drives offers you the capacity you require? Well why not upgrade to this 64GB flash drive from Kanguru. The downside? You’ll have to pay $2,800 (£1,597) for it.

For your money you get the Flash Drive Max, which weighs just 18g and measures 9.2 x 2.5 x 1.5cm. Kanguru said the drive not only contains "top grade" NAND Flash chips – with a guaranteed ten-year data retention period but also ships with an aluminium shell for extra physical protection. After all, you hate to pay all that money then lose everything when you drop it.

The drive works best over a USB 2.0 connection, but it will connect to USB 1.1 ports too. There’s a read speed of up to 9MBps and a write speed of up to 5MBps. The drive is compatible with any USB Mass Storage-supporting operating system, but the password-protection software only runs on Windows. If all that’s a bit rich, there’s also a 32GB version for $1,500 and a 16GB model for a mere $800. The 16GB drive is available now, with the 32GB and 64GB models shipping on April 15th.
