Five years after the company launched its first Easyshare digital camera and dock, Kodak has unveiled the Easyshare V610 – a 6 megapixel bluetooth-enabled camera with 10x optical zoom.

Kodak claims the Easyshare V610 is the world’s smallest 10X optical zoom camera at just just 4.4 x 2.2 x 0.9 inches. Using precision-crafted Kodak Retina Dual Lens technology, the V610 combines two Schneider-Kreuznach C-Variogon prism lenses to deliver its long zoom range. The camera also features anti-blur technology to maintain the detail of those distant or fast-moving shots.

The V610 camera records TV-quality (VGA) video at 30 frames per second (fps), using advanced MPEG-4 compression for optimal quality and storage size. Just as well, as there’s only 28MB of internal storage, but this can be boosted via SD card.

The V610 is also one of the first digital cameras to incorporate bluetooth, making it easier to instantly share pictures with people nearby. Pictures can be sent up to 30 feet away, or indeed, received and viewed on the camera’s high resolution 2.8-inch LCD screen (230,000 pixels).

The Kodak easyshare V610 camera should be available in June, with a price tag of around £350.
