It’s good to see manufacturers finally recognising that a large slice of us PC users operate wireless networks these days and adapting their devices and peripherals to suit. Brother is the latest form to ditch the wires by integrated wireless networking into its range of inkjet all-in-one devices.

The new wireless models all have SES (secure easy set-up) compatibility. The MFC-640CW features colour printer, fax, copier, scanner, ten sheet automatic document feeder (ADF), network card, digital answering machine, wireless Ethernet, ‘Scan & Translate’ software, a handset and a duplex speaker phone for hands-free discussions. The MFC-820CW has all of ther above, along with a 2.5inch LCD screen to view photos before they are printed. The DCP-340CW is a colour printer with copier, scanner, ‘Scan & Translate’ software, network card, ten sheet ADF and wireless Ethernet.

All models also feature Brother’s PhotoCapture Centre, which allows you to slot a memory card directly into the machine and print out index sheets with thumbnail size images for selection. You can then print your chosen photograph in a variety of sizes.

Prices range from around £140 to £200.
