Apple has announced a new product for iPods at MacWorld, the iPod Radio Remote – a remote control with built-in FM radio designed for use with the iPod nano and iPod video.

When connected, the iPod displays station and song information for radio stations that support the Radio Data System (RDS). You can mark a favourite station for quick access later and switch between favourite stations using either the iPod or the remote. Because the iPod Radio Remote is powered by the iPod itself, no extra batteries are required. However, using the FM radio will obviously affect iPod playback time.

The iPod Radio Remote includes a pair of Apple headphones with a shorter cable and is available now at £35. You can find out more at www.apple.com/uk/ipod/accessories.html
