O'Neill's gadget back packs

More wearable electronics, this time from O’Neill, which has introduced the H2 series of ultra-light, ultra-tough, gadget-based back packs. The company says it is the World’s first back pack to charge gadgets, control an iPod and answer mobile calls. As I’ve never heard of another gadget back pack, I can’t disagree!

Solar panels on the back pack can charge an iPod, mobile phone or Bluetooth module via a USB recharging system. A step-up converter inside allocates the charge to the gadget most in need of power. For hands-free calling, a microphone is built-in to the shoulder strap and a universal headphone jack is incorporated in the chest pocket. When the user receives a call, the iPod transmission is automatically interrupted, pausing the music until the call ends.

The iPod and Bluetooth module are safely stored in a water resistant casing in the back of the pack. The iPod is controlled via the durable ElekTex™ soft control panel on the shoulder strap.

The H2 back pack retails for £170. For further information visit http://www.oneill.com
