The words "drop" and "hard drive" put fear into the best of us. Buffalo Technology want to make that a thing of the past with their MiniStation – a shock-tolerant USB 2.0 portable hard drive.

The MiniStation features Buffalo’s Secure Lock Ware utility, which offers drive and file encryption to protect data and it runs at 5400rpm, allowing users to quickly access and store files, digital images and back up data without occupying valuable space on a PC’s main hard drive.

But the main selling point is the drive’s stability. It is housed in a tough armoured outer case and has a shock absorbent internal design, based aparently on a "floating structure". Either way, it should protect your impotant data from mishap.

The MiniStation is pre-formatted for immediate use and is available now in both 40GB and 80GB models. For more information visit www.buffalo-technology.com.
