AOL go mobile in US

AOL is trying to get its mitts into the ever-expanding mobile market as well, with the launch of AOLmobile.com. The service, intended for PC access, will allow users to browse the price of phones, contracts and other shopping in their area. In a nice little touch, you can customise the site to show information relevant to you in your area (mobile phone accesories available near you, for instance). AOL has also announced an update of their WAP based AOL portal. The new AOL service isn’t a massive split from the existing WAP services already out there. Subscription, which is also available for non-AOL customers, will kit out your phone with a set of interesting new features, such as international news and weather, sports and entertainment. The site is US-specific at the moment: no news on whether we can expect to see this feature in the UK yet.
