Amazon offering online short stories

Amazon is taking another stab at the digital content side of the market by launching a service were you can download short stories in digital form. The stories cost 49 cents each to download and you can expect names such as crime writer James Lee Burke and author Terry Brooks to be penning them. The stories will not be released in any other format, meaning the only way to read them is to download them to your PC.

I have to wonder whether anyone’s really happy reading stories on a screen though. Maybe if you combine this service with e-paper, then you’d be in business.
