Vodafone's 3G newbies

We haven’t read many stories recently about how Vodafone is doing in trying to tempt subscribers to upgrade to its 3G services. It seems a little quiet at the moment which might mean that sales of 3G handsets are short of what was expected, but then again it might not. Nevertheless the range of 3G mobiles the network is offering gets better all the time. The latest to arrive is Sony Ericsson’s rather stylish looking V600i (a 3G T610?) and Samsung’s Z500 mobiles. Available to buy now both models feature video calling facilities and can access Vodafone’s Live! 3G video portal. The Sony Ericsson is a chocolate bar style phone that’s one of the most compact 3G models to date. It features a 1.3 mega pixel camera, FM radio, MP3 player, large 262k colour screen and video capture. The clamshell Samsung’s Z500 includes a one mega pixel camera and flash, a 262k colour screen and Bluetooth. Both mobiles are available for free if users sign up for an eighteen month contract.
