Revolution to be the last of the next-gens?

Looks like Nintendo is set to take
rear-guard action in the latest round of console offerings. Despite having the
lowest specifications of the big three, Nintendo President,
Satoru Iwata indicated that the release date of the Revolution could fall behind those of the PS3 and the Xbox 360. Personally I don’t think this is a bad
thing: in terms of power it is the junior of the three, but the few
specs that have come out indicate that it’s still going to be a good distance
beyond the Gamecube which is itself hardly the worst of the current consoles. Plus I don’t
want to see Nintendo getting caught up in the Sony vs microsoft struggle;
leaving a couple of months for everything to calm down can only help gamers
evaluate the new systems and give Nintendo some time to think about where the
Revolution can go in terms of gaming . Get that right and the players will know
and will probably have a few quid saved up after Spring to spend on the humble
Revolution, just leave the race for domination of the entire home entertainment
system to the PS3 and Xbox 360.
