Sony releases T2 vaio laptop series

The more executively-minded might be interested in Sony’s release of the new T2 series Vaio, launched today. These laptops come with  60GB of hard disk space and 512MB of double data rate SDRAM. The processor is a Pentium-M variant, running at 1.2ghz, which while not enough to play Doom 3 on, is more than enough to browse the web.

Where Sony’s laptops have shone is in their X-Black LCD technology screens, which provide excellent image quality for DVD playback, and the T2 looks set to continue this trend with a sizable 10.6 inch widescreen display. Also sweetening the deal is a multiformat DVD±RW drive, as well as the built in wireless networking (802.11b/g, of course). As you might expect from the vaio series, the laptop does come with bluetooth. In terms of software, the T2 offers a surprisingly sweet deal with Adobe Photoshop elements 2.0, a special edition of Adobe Premiere 6.0 as well as Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition. The whole package weighs a light 1.38kg: not bad, but is it really worth the £1,699 asking price?
