Sony releases new HDTV camera

According to those good folk at i4u, Sony has released a high end HDTV camera in its Qualia line, dubbed the Qualia 002, or the Q002-HDR1. The design is apparently based on the Sony HDR-FX1 HDV video camera of last year. The new model shipped today, going on sale in Japan for a considerable 570,000 yen, or about £2800 pounds. Although that’s a little too pricey for the average family holiday movie enthusiast, documentary and budget film makers might be attracted by the 3.5 inch LCD screen, the 1080i resolution and the mîcrophone with a special noise reduction design.
