Fans of Sony will
be pleased to hear about the launch of the VAIO RA304 Desktop. This latest desktop aims to please home entertainment freaks, featuring what Sony call the
VGP-MR100E Network Media Receiver. This nifty little gadget will allow you to
stream AV content to multiple sources around the home. Handy if you want to
watch a movie that’s recorded on your PC, but don’t fancy watching it on your
PC’s monitor.

In terms of pure technical specs, the new VAIO isn’t looking so
bad either, with an Intel 560J Pentium 4 processor, an nVidia Geforce 6600, a
16x PCI express bus and a gigabyte of DDR400 memory. The RA304 also comes
completely HDTV ready. As you might expect from Sony hardware, the machine
certainly isn’t cheap, retailing at £1,699.
