In response to the apparently high advertising and service charges by major internet services such as eBay and Google, The People’s Web is providing a new onkine servcice for buying, selling and swapping goods. Users pay a small annual subscription fee that the site claims dramatically undercuts the charges incurred by small sellers in rival sites.

Tim Hayes, The People’s Web chairman says: "Individuals and businesses are needlessly being charged to sell online. Whether they’re paying for keyword searches, advertised links or giving up a percentage slice of their sale, there is always a middleman profiting”. The People’s Web offers a low cost digital market place for individuals and businesses across the UK and is currently operating with backing from some major retailers including Volkswagen and Crabtree and Evelyn.
