Ovideon PVP highlight of CES

Personal video players

One of the highlights of this year’s CES for us was this portable media player from Ovideon. The AVAIh could well be the best PVP we’ve seen so far. The OLED screen offers superb quality – far better than LCD – but its most compelling feature has to be the multi-standard on-board TV tuner. So when it launches in the UK, hopefully later in 2005, it will be able to pick up the five terrestrial analogue TV stations (unless you live in Wales of course, and you still can’t get Five). The 5GB AVIAh is a recorder as well as a player, so you’ll be able to video shows off TV for later viewing. It also features a multi-media video player, an MP3 and WMA player, a JPEG slide show viewer and an audio/video recorder – and doubtless other features ending in the "er". Full specs after the leap.
