McDonald's Pedometer

You’ve probably all read about the various attempts that McDonald’s has been making to improve its image among increasingly health-conscious consumers. The company has been suffering from some very bad press in recent months, and with Super Size Me on screen in the UK in the next few weeks, it’s going to need all the help it can get.

Its latest grand scheme is the Go Active! Meal, which consists of a grilled chicken salad, a diet coke and a Stepometer to help you walk it all off. The £3.99 offer is available in McD’s now.

McDonald’s, sponsors of this year’s Olympic Games, is recommending that customers try to make 10,000 steps per day. The stepometer (or pedometer, as they’re more commonly known), which is designed to clip onto your belt, will count your footsteps throughout the day, so you can see just how much of a sedentary lazy person you really are. We’ll no doubt be seeking solace in a Big Mac.
