The B/R/S Group has been conducting market research for microsoft Xbox on consumer reactions to “Xbox Next PC”, according to CNN/Money. According to focus group slides seen by CNN/Money, it would be “a videogame console system with a hard drive and a built-in fully functional PC.”

This hybrid device would work off a high definition TV or monitor, would be compatible with PC games and software, Xbox games and “next-generation” Xbox titles and would feature DVD and CD-recording drives. The study slides CNN saw put the price at $599. Peter Moore, corporate VP, marketing and publishing, microsoft home and entertainment, commented on the device as being a “scenario” that it is testing, rather than a reality.
