The Guardian has first dabs at the new £160 Voyager Media Player from BT.

In case you missed the posting of a few weeks ago it is a mini hi-fi with no direct music sources other than an FM tuner. Instead, via an FM transmitter plugged into a PC’s USB socket, users can stream music from a computer/the web (MP3, CDs, internet radio stations) to the Voyager that can be sited anywhere in your home.

Overall it works reasonably well, but is difficult to operate – especially if you are playing MP3s – and sound quality is slightly compromised by some FM hiss.
