The MP3 watch returns

Remember the Casio MP3-playing watch? It was a neat idea, but was little more than a gimmick as it only had 32MB storage – enough for about half an hour of tunes.

Austrian company Laks, which manufactures data storage watches that connect to a PC via USB is reviving the concept in March with a series of watches that can also store and play MP3 and WMA music files. Users transfer the tunes to the watch via its USB 1.1 interface and then listen to them on an accompanying set of earphones.

Also included is an integrated mîcrophone for voice recording. Power is supplied by a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery, which boasts a playback time of around five hours. The timepiece is available in four different versions offering 32, 64, 128 and 256MB of storage. The top end 256MB model is expected to retail for around £200.

  • the new ‘samsung SGH-D410’ camera phone does not let you send photos via infra red, but infact only allows you to send contacts information via the address book. There is simply no options for sending via infrared for photos.
