sony-dvdirect-dvd-burner.jpgThe Sony DVDirect DVD Burner is a tool for enthusiasts. It’s something your dad would buy out of a catalogue. It has the appearance of being a labour-saving device, without really making much of a difference.

It connects via USB to your camcorder – like, er, your PC already does – or you can pop the memory card into one of its holes. From there, you can dump everything onto a dual-layer DVD, complete with auto-generated DVD menu screens, with relative ease. Its array of inputs means you’re able to connect it to pretty much any video source – even granddad’s old video recorder.

The other killer little feature is a 2.5″ screen for previewing images and video. Although, chances are the thing you used to record the images/video in the first place already had a perfectly functional screen of its own.
