asus-1000h-reviewed.jpgWell, it may have been three weeks late but the little larger Asus Eee PC 1000 is finally on our shelves, at least for as long as there are units left.

With 10-inches of screen and mercifully still an Intel Atom chip, there have been concerns that the 1000 will be taking away the very portable essence of the Asus identity but so far it appears to be going down very well and for not too much at £369.

The extra bulk buys you pretty much double the battery life at a billed 7.5 hours and all the Bluetooth and 802.11n Wi-Fi you can shake a stick at. The 1000 works with a Linux OS and 40GB SSD but, if you want to go all Windows, then opt for the Asus Eee PC 1000H which costs £20 less and comes with XP and a 80GB HDD, you backward thinking technophobe.

The only other choice beyond all that is whether you want it in black or white, or indeed if you want to wait until the price comes down.
