Following hot on the heels of AT&T, casino giant Harrah’s has bought six Surface tables from Microsoft, and plonked them in their Rio iBar Ultra Lounge in Las Vegas.

Just like the telecoms company, Harrah’s has customised the tables with bespoke software, including an application called ‘Flirt’ allowing customers to send text messages and videos to each other. ‘Mixologist’, on the other hand, lets the customers create their own cocktails from the wide range of ingredients. Games and a ‘Virtual Vegas’ tour guide are also included in the tables, guaranteeing people will linger for longer in the bar, thus ordering more drinks. Clever move, Harrah’s.
