olympus_ls-10_audio_recorder.jpgThough I’m more impressed with Belkin’s Podcast Studio for recording audio directly to an iPod, Olympus’s LS-10 linear PCMr recorder boasts high quality portable sound recording directly onto its 2GB internal memory or SD/SDHC expansion cards.

It will record audio through its two in-built microphones at up to 24-bit/96kHz, in WAV. WMA or MP3 format. It has three microphone recording modes — normal, wide, and zoom — five reverb effects and four playback modes.

It can be connected to a tripod, has manual recording level control, low-cut filter, built-in stereo speaker, programmable function button, and option remote control unit.

It runs off two AA batteries, and comes with case, USB cable, strap, audio connection cable, windshield, and DVD containing Steinberg Cubase 4 LE and a video tutorial.

The LS-10 has been available for a couple of months, and retails for around £260.
