F400 Share competition – give Samsung your hard work for free

It’s interesting to see how the different phone brands are going about keeping up with the Jobs’s as computers become mobiles and mobiles computers. Whereas Nokia has decided to go down the gaming route with N-Gage, it seems Samsung has decided that music will be their thing and has announced a competition to go with the launch of their F400 handset.

The idea behind F400 Share is that unsigned bands are encouraged to upload one of their tracks to the Samsung website where they can be listen to and voted on the public…

Samsung's whopping 82-inch LCD TV boasts quad HD, like you need that?

Samsung has shown off its latest big telly, a massive 82-inch LCD TV boasting quad HD technology that gives it a native resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 — four times the resolution of current high definition TVs. It also has a 120Hz screen refresh rate, pretty impressive for a screen this size, and a LED backlight for improved contrast ratio and black levels.

Should you have a wall big enough to accommodate this monster, bear in mind that no content is commercially available to take advantage of what is effectively 2160p high definition. However, decent 1080p footage should still look pretty spectacular on it…

After an initial delay, Samsung announces the BD-P1500 Blu-ray player will launch in June

Originally scheduled for a May release, the BD-P1500 has just been handed a June birthdate from Samsung, after being announced at CES earlier in the year.

Priced at around $399 in the US by the looks of things, the player will be Blu-ray Profile 1.1 and Dolby TrueHD audio compatible, and output at 1080p resolution. Potential firmware upgrades via the Ethernet and USB ports will allow for BD-Live 2.0 and DTS-HD HR support, according to reports, but sadly not DTS-HD Master…
