As a Zune owner, I got an email late last week telling me that the Zune store was going to be down for 48 hours, starting today. Not a problem for me, given that I don’t use it, but a bit of a pain for American Zuners, I would have thought. It would be like the iTunes Store going down for two days.

There’s a bit of online speculation over one of Samsung’s next mobile phones. Its model number is the M8800, but as to its actual name (the one people might more easily remember than a few letters and numbers cobbled together) — well that could be Bresson, or it could be Pixon.

According to 'insiders', boffins in California have struggled and strained to create the unimaginable by redesigning the Apple iPod Shuffle to support a mighty 4Gb of solid-state hard drive space. Amazed, huh? Well, I'm not surprised. The current series of iPod Shuffles struggle to push past the maximum limit of a piffling 2Gb – so for this rumour to be true – well, it redefines time, space, life and everything.
