Bill Gates – "using the download page to download something was not something they anticipated"

bill-gates-microsoft-email-leak.jpg

This fantastic email comes from the archives of Microsoft, and was originally turned over to the authorities during the nasty anti-trust investigation.

In it, Bill releases his epic frustration at the process of trying to download Windows Movie Maker. It’s nice to know that Bill counts the seconds Microsoft web pages take to load and also reboots his PC “every night.” Here are a few quotes – the full email’s after…

The latter part doesn’t seem so exciting but this was believed to be when Soloway made over $300,000 from his nefarious internet practices.

viapost.jpgImagine if you could ditch boring old letters in favour of something more electronic? Y’know, using your computer to send documents to other people, without having to lick a stamp and find the nearest postbox. If only someone could invent such a technology. They could call it… email!

Oh, hang on…

Okay, so it’s tempting to snort at ViaPost, a UK startup that’s seemingly reinventing the e-wheel with its promises to ‘post’ mail over the internet using (in their words) ‘Post-over-Internet Protocol’.
