Gosh, this is very exciting. If you’re one of the few people in Britain who don’t have a DS yet, or your kid is, and they’re bugging you about it, then you might fancy entering this competition. We’ve got a Nintendo DS and a copy of Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Jedi Alliance to give away.

The game has a storyline exclusive to the DS, lets you use your stylus as a lightsaber, and you can put together ridiculous pairings of characters, like Mace Windu and R2-D2. Sounds fun, right? So how do you enter? Easy. Simply visit this page, fill in your details, and then hope. May the Force be with you.

Microsoft pushing Live Search through bribery: win prizes at John Lewis

bigsnapii.png

Live Search must really be suffering at the moment, as Microsoft is teaming up with John Lewis to give away thousands of pounds worth of prizes over Christmas just for using the search engine.

BigSnapSearch.com launched today, and Microsoft will be hoping that this marketing push will be as successful as the first one it ran, that allegedly saw search queries increase by a third during the eight-week promotion. No stats on how many people defected back to Google afterwards, though.

Each time someone searches for something, two virtual cards are turned over. If they match, it’s “Snap!”, and a prize is won. Bearing in mind that there are only 24 prizes each day, don’t expect to win a flurry of prizes…

BBC, ITV & Ch. 4 ask for more time to prove 'Kangaroo' is above board.

British broadcasters and project 'Kangaroo' bed-buddies: the BBC, ITV, and Channel 4, have been told by the commission in charge of their fair-competition inquiry that they have more time to get their facts straight.

The Competition Commission's inquiry was due to begin on the 6th August, but like three lazy students, the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 have all begged for more time to prepare their case. And like a kindly avuncular professor, the Competition Commission has agreed to postpone the much anticipated inquest date until early September when it is hoped that all three big boys will have got their act in gear and gathered the relevant information they need to argue their case properly.

A fantastic display of garden sheds, including several outstanding TARDIS designs

We should explain the importance of the garden shed to our international readers. It may smell a bit mouldy, there may only be one uncomfortable folding chair to sit on, and most sheds lack basic utilities like gas, water and electricity. But the shed is the final hiding place for man.

Women won’t go there because it’s cold, children aren’t allowed because it’s dangerous. The shed is the last remaining 6′ x 4′ castle of the Englishman. Which is why some crazy men spend so much time modifying their sheds to look like the TARDIS. If you’re going to spend six hours a day in a shed, it may as well be a cool shed.
