Is the UK-only Apple press conference next Tuesday about the iPhone launch here?
Very excited I was, to walk into work this morning and discover an email from Apple sitting in my Outlook account. There’s nothing better, unless it’s correspondence from my dear friends in Nigeria informing me of the amazing news that I’ve inherited millions of dollars from them. Good times, good times.
Speculation is brewing in our office as to just what Apple are hinting at with their email, with them inviting us to a special UK-only press conference at their store on Regent Street next Tuesday….
Tech Digest to live-blog Apple's product announcement tonight, 6PM GMT
As everyone and their grandmother can tell you, there’s a super-secret Apple product launch happening tonight, and as ‘super-secret’ implies, no-one really knows what will be announced. Sure, there’s rumours circling thar intarwebs faster than it takes a Microsoft fanboy to say “yeh well the Zune 2.0 will be available in pink”, but nothing’s been set in concrete as yet.
Alex from Shiny Shiny, and yours truly from Tech Digest will be heading over to the BBC studios tonight to watch a live broadcast via satellite of Steve Jobs’s conference in California and will be merrily live-blogging the night away. 3 has just announced that an updated Nokia N95 handset, version PR1.2, is now available on their network.
Sporting an improved battery life, GPS, and better Internet browsing stability, as well as full X-Series support, it’ll cost £49.99 on the £28 monthly X-Series tariff, or is free on £45+ monthly tariffs.

How likely is a Monday announcement of a European iPhone 3G?

Now that the deal with the first US version of the iPhone is virtually tied up, the rumourmongers have turned their attentions squarely to Europe.
Yes, I’ll come out straight away and call it a rumour, because I’m not convinced that Monday will see an announcement from Apple about the European iPhone.
If I’m proved wrong next week, so be it.
