One's partially responsible for polluting the environment, the other's responsible for highlighting environmental issues to the world in An Inconvenient Truth. But still that didn't stop Richard Branson and Al Gore sharing the stage, and acting like bestest buddies, at last night's frankly fantastic Virgin Media launch event (shame the TV ads starring Uma Thurman are so annoying).

When Kat told me that Richard Branson was in a clear box around the corner from our Covent Garden offices, I rushed out - camera phone in hand - hoping to get a shot of him suspended precariously from a big crane hundreds of feet above the ground David Blaine stylee.
Unfortunately, he was on terra firma and didn't appear to be depriving of himself of food and water for any long period of time. Shame. Instead he was on the phone to Al Gore (apparently), him of An Inconvenient Truth fame, in some shameless attempt to get more publicity for his newly launched Virgin Media proposition. And the latest blog to bolt from the Shiny stable is... TechScape. It is Shiny Media’s sideways look at the wonderful world of the web, or web 2.0 to be precise, from a UK perspective.
Truth be told we have been working on this blog for ages, but finally think we have got the content about right.
The big story for TechScape is how all those amazing innovative web 2.0 sites (YouTube, My Space and many others) will make the journey from the PC to the mobile phone.
You can read more about the blog on the Shiny Media site.

Is it sexist to compile a list of the ten Web 2.0 women who make Tech Digest go weak at the keyboard? Well, yes. But ShinyShiny started it with their shameless objectification of gadget-clutching hunks the other week, so what choice did we have?
But rather than book in Lucy Pinder and Jodie Marsh to hold some MP3 players while striking unconvincing Sapphic poses, we thought we'd compile a list of people we respect for their minds, achievements and (hopefully) ENORMOUS stock options.
With that in mind then, read on for the inaugural Tech Digest Top 10 Web 2.0 Crushes list. It's like Time magazine's Person Of The Year award! Except with no men, a few more jokes, and no chance of the great unwashed public winning it. Hurrah! They're not in order, by the way. We'd only end up coming to blows if we tried.

So is 3's X-Series a cynical marketing ploy to tempt gadget lovers into subscribing to its network? Or is it how the mobile internet should be. Check out the video and then you tell us.

Here at Tech Digest we are, cough, cough, metrosexual types equally at home discussing the latest range of cardigans from FCUK as we are disecting the inadequacies of Arsenal's Henry-less front line.
What we really hate are those sexist gadget mags and websites that plaster bikini-clad young girls all over their pages in a bid to bump up page impressions or sell mags.
So we are ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIED that the Shiny girls have chosen to shoot this Carry On style vid as their Xmas message. Mucky pups! What will their mums think of them now.
Watch and weep into your Skinny Hazelnut Lattes boys.

There's nothing too taxing. Just let us know if it is Wii or PS3? Nokia or Motorola? Sky or Blu-ray? etc etc and your name goes in the hat. Ten lucky people will be getting lovely Boys Stuff freebies.
