Buy Cheap Trick's pimped-up golf buggy on eBay

Cheaptrick_1 The Rawk / Golf crossover has a noble history, from Alice Cooper to, er, Alice Cooper. But now you can add Cheap Trick into that equation, thanks to an auction on eBay for a golf buggy customised with graphics from the band's latest album, and signed by the members. Bayraider found the buggy, which is bright yellow, has its own sound system and neon lights, and is on offer for a starting price of $10,000.

Also today on Bayraider: Snoop Dogg's concert-worn Yankees jersey, a jacket given by Jack Nicholson to crew members of About Schmidt, and a shirt worn by Michael Crawford for a performance of Phantom Of The Opera. It's a clothing theme today, seemingly. Don't wear them all at once, mind.

Grab a vintage Optimus Prime on eBay

Optimusprime_1 As the world awaits the forthcoming Transformers movie (what next, a MASK remake starring Lindsay Lohan, Ben Affleck and the Mini-Me guy?), original Transformers toys are going for a bomb on eBay if they're in good condition. Take this first-generation Optimus Prime model, which has been found by Bayraider. It's going for over $2,500 at the moment, although it does come in its box in perfect condition.

Also on Bayraider today: a crocodile-green 'SIRWIN' numberplate in honour of Steve Irwin, a David Hasselhoff gold disc, a hat worn by Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump, and a bling diamond ring that belonged - for a few minutes - to Desperate Housewives star Nicollette Sheridan.

Radarrobot And no, the answer isn't that they both need a good oiling with WD40 before they can get up in the morning. At least, I think that isn't the answer... No, the link is that they've both been spotlighted on Bayraider today. The Radar Robot (pictured) was made by Japanese firm Nomura in the 1950s. Back then, he would've cost you just $2.98, but on eBay he's going for $765 at the time of writing. That's inflation for you.

You'll only have to spend $41 to get your hands on Rod Stewart's smelly old ball – but don't worry, it's been kept well, so isn't sagging at all. It's a football that Rod kicked into the crowd at a gig in Columbus, Ohio, and subsequently signed. I assume whoever caught it then brought it backstage. Rod's arms aren't that long.

Also today on Bayraider: a broken drumstick (musical, not chicken) signed by Led Zep's John Bonham, a Lindsay Lohan handbag hand-made from her Rolling Stone cover, and some Suri Cruise t-shirts.

Grab yourself a Big Loo robot on eBay

Bigloorobot And no, that's not a cyborg that helps wipe your bum. The boffins haven't invented that yet. Instead, it's a quirky robot found on eBay by Bayraider. He's mostly green, a bit battered, and clearly didn't clean his teeth properly during his boyhood (bothood?) years, as there's plenty of gaps. Still, he has got his original box, which given he was made in the early 1960s is some achievement.

Today's other crop of cool items on Bayraider includes a Meat Loaf mirror, a Hellraiser-themed edition of Monopoly, and a cuddly alligator toy formerly owned by Her Out Of The Divinyls. You remember, she sang about touching herself. Hopefully not with the alligator.

Thursday Top 10: Coolest eBay auctions in August

Dalekrobot_2 Is eBay full of overpriced tat that never sells, even if it used to belong to a celebrity? Well, yes. Although obviously there's much more to it than that. Bayraider has just rounded up its favourite ten auctions for August, which has a healthy dash of those celeb auctions, but also includes some gadgety ones too, such as the home-made robot that looks suspiciously like a dalek, and miniature rawk drumkits for your toddlers.

Get your hands on Charlie Sheen's home gym

Charliesheengym So, you spent hundreds of pounds on that home gym gear to get yourself fit, and now it's rusting away in the garage. Don't worry: even Hollywood superstars do the same thing. At least, that's the conclusion to draw from this eBay auction on Bayraider for Charlie Sheen's home gym, which he originally paid over $20,000 for, but is now on eBay for $995 "in like-new condition".

Meanwhile, if you're less fitness-focused and more gadgety, you may want to check a couple of other auctions found by Bayraider today: such as this gold-plated iPod Nano, this baseball bat signed by the Sopranos cast, or this collection of Snakes On A Plane tat. Because you can never have enough ceramic piggy-banks based on popular snake-related B-movies.

Mini robo-tank steamrolls onto eBay

Robottank A 10-inch robot tank isn't going to have much luck taking over the world - it'd struggle to even take over your pet hamster. But on eBay, the R1 robo-tank is king of the world this week according to Bayraider, with a starting price of $150 and a cheeky smile on its face. It's got all its original antennae y'know. Also today on Bayraider, grab a vintage Beatles lunch box, Michael Jackson's ultra-bling Swarovski white glove, and Keira Knightley's shoes from Pirates Of The Caribbean. That's booty worth grabbing. The items, I mean. Not Keira.

Wheel yourself around in a home-made Dalek

Dalekrobot_1 Except it's NOT a Dalek. If it was, the BBC would be chasing the guy selling it on eBay for copyright infringement. So it's a robot called Steven which just happens to resemble the ones you might've seen menacing Billie Piper on a Saturday night.

You sit inside it on a chair and wheel yourself around using your legs. And better still, it's got a voice modulator that converts anything you say into the steely tones of a dal... I mean, a robot. And judging by the photo, it's partial to a Four Cheese with garlic bread too. Expect to pay £1,399 if you want to own it.

Motleycruedemo Back in 1985, Motley Crue were arguably at the height of their powers (i.e. they hadn't got fat and old. Or met Pamela Anderson). So while $1,000 might sound like a high price to pay for a mangy-sounding demo tape recorded in Stuttgart, there are quite possibly hordes of hair-metal fans out there who'll bid for this item, found by Bayraider.

Meanwhile, poor Tom Cruise: who'd have thought his employment contract would be up for grabs on eBay within a day of getting axed by his studio? Okay, so it's not his actual contract with Paramount, but that hasn't stopped someone demanding $250 for it.

Vintagecamera Digital compacts are so last year, haven't you heard? The in-thing now is 71-inch wooden cameras from the early 20th century. Where would you find such a thing? On eBay of course. Bayraider's found this marvellous mahogany model, which was made in England and has been kept in really good nick. I'm not sure how you'd get the pictures into iPhoto, mind.

Bayraider's also been on a celeb tip today, finding a surprisingly good oil painting of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, a Japanese Saki box used by Richie Sambora and Heather Locklear, and a studio master tape from the mid-90s featuring both Snoop Dogg AND Tupac. On different songs, sadly.

Buy Tommy Steele's Mini on eBay

Tommysteelemini Okay, so this piece of technology found by Bayraider is, ahem, 30 years old. So it's not exactly cutting-edge, although your grandad probably will find it more exciting than an iPod. It's comedian Tommy Steele's old Mini, which is being flogged on eBay with bidding at nearly £2,500.

It's also Robot Tuesday on Bayraider, so they've been hunting down another crop of top bots on eBay. This week's ten includes a $249,000 robot tank, a pair of Rock'em Sock'em bots dressed up like Mr T and Rocky Balboa, and an original AIBO ERS-110 that's had 27 bids already.

Get your proper Star Wars stormtrooper armour on eBay

Stormtrooper Some models are physically incapable of NOT striking a Freeman's catalogue pose whenever a camera's pointing at them. Even if they're modelling a sophisticated costume based on the most famous cinematic sci-fi saga of them all. Yes, eBay is a happy hunting ground for stormtrooper suits, but the one pictured left tickled Bayraider today for the sheer quality of the photos. And the fact that the helmet's got its own electronic cooling fans.

Meanwhile, Bayraider's also been doing its weekly eBay trawl for movie items, and today's crop includes Sylvester Stallone's boxing gloves, a Bruce Lee bust and a proper Wrath Of Khan era Star Trek officer's uniform. Think of the sci-fi mash-up you could film if you bought the latter AND the Stormtrooper suit...

Dress to thrill thanks to eBay

Slipknot_mask A quick scout on Bayraider today will furnish you with the ultimate party outfit. Start with a pair of Rod Stewart's shoes (with a Spider-man boot as backup). Add a pair of Steve McQueen's sunglasses, as seen in Towering Inferno. And then bid like mad on items from the blog's Music Thursday roundup, including Elvis Presley's bling boxing ring, Madonna's pearl necklace, Naomi Judd's slinky satin dress, and cap the whole thing off with a Slipknot mask. Hey presto: you'll be fighting off members of the opposite sex with a big stick. Oh, hang on, they'll be fighting you off...

10 more eBay robots gunning for your wallet

Rampagingrobot The world's in danger of being overrun by waves of Japanese tin robots, judging by Bayraider's success in finding 10 new hot bots every week on eBay. This week's bumper crop includes the Weeble-like Mr Atomic, a Rampaging Robot that bursts through your living room wall, and a Robot Commando who looks like Optimus Prime after a fight with a Lego set.

It's not all robots though. Today, Bayraider's also turned up a Mafia Boss' bling ring, Johnny Depp's wedding photos, and Angelina Jolie's used hanky. Nice.

Want to star in a console beat 'em up? Try eBay...

Battle_of_the_gods_jesusl Fancy yourself as a potential Mario? Console developer Classified Productions is auctioning off the right to appear in its beat 'em up Battle Of The Gods, which is being developed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. According to Bayraider, the winning bidder will be the first thing gamers see in one of the game's levels.

However, when some other game developers are offering this sort of thing for free - see Sports Interactive's 'Face In The Game' competition for the next Football Manager game - you have to wonder who'd pay $4,500 for the privilege of appearing in a game that's still being developed, even if it does appear to star Jesus as a playable character (left).

Grab yourself a Star Wars battle droid on eBay

Starwarsbattledroid It's not surprising they're being sold off - there's thousands of the buggers, and they don't seem good for much except cannon fodder. Anyway, Bayraider has turned up someone who's selling a seven-foot battle droid for just £850, or will swap it for an R2D2.

Bayraider has also found a slinky pink baby doll chemise dress as seen on Eva Longoria - a prize to any reader who buys both and combines them for some hilarious cross-dressing robot minion antics. Or maybe not. Oh, and it's Sport Wednesday on the eBay-fixated blog, with ten hot auctions including Ayrton Senna's helmet, a WWE ringside seat (as in the chair itself, not a ticket) and a defiantly ungadgety pair of 19th century curling stones.

Tuesday Top Ten: the eBay Robots are back

Robot_robbyrobot I love robots, they're my friends. At least, they are until the batteries run out, or they go on a laser death rampage. Thankfully, the former usually happens before the latter. Anyway, it's Tuesday, so it's time to round up the best robots available to buy on eBay. And this week, I'm upping the number to ten of the tinny fellas, because there's just too many good ones: Sega's freaky cat-bot, Coca Cola's rare Japanese waiter-bot, and Tom Baker's nemesis from Doctor Who and more...

N64 Kids console up for grabs on eBay

If you haven't already seen the N64 Kids video clip, click below to watch what happens when you give an excitable American child the console they've spent the last 12 months badgering for. Unsurprisingly, it's become a hit on the Web. But the excitement didn't last - the kid in the vid is now flogging his console on eBay, and the price it's going for may well have him shouting once more. Check Bayraider for the full story.

Loveseat What's the best way to fend off that tricky 7-year itch? Why, a spinning love swing of course, like the one Bayraider found as part of their Freaky Friday blowout of weird eBay items. It can support up to 400 pounds in weight y'know. Bayraider have also turned up Saddam Hussein's unwanted feeding tube, a smouldering Volcano exhibit from a natural history museum, and an ex-Maxim model selling her ass (well, advertising space on it) for cash. As you do.

Also on Bayraider today, a swanky Steinway Grand piano decorated by artist Romero Britto, and signed by the cast of the new Miami Vice movie, with all proceeds going to Don Johnson's briefcase charity.

Give your kid a RAWK legend's drumkit via eBay

Rogertaylordrumkit Does anyone really want their child to turn out like Keith Moon or John Bonham? It's not as if they lived to a ripe old age. Still, Bayraider has turned up some marvellous miniature drumkits on eBay, modelled on those used by Keith and John. Oh, and Roger Taylor out of Queen, who's a better role model on account of being, well, still alive.

It's also Music Thursday on Bayraider, click here to see their ten favourite other music items on eBay this week, including the altar stage-prop from Madonna's Blond Ambition tour, a set of golf clubs promoting prog legends Rush, and a Kylie Minogue tricycle light.
