NextBase has taken the wrappers off its new Media 22 Entertainment Centre, a one-box device that includes an iPod dock, DVD/CD player, 3.5-inch screen WITH an analogue TV tuner, an FM radio, and stereo speakers.

Don’t be thinking this is tinny sound that wouldn’t merit a medal at the gnat wind-breaking Olympics though. There are five drive units within the Media 22, with two treble drivers, two midrange units, and a subwoofer.

Get set for 3G video dating with The Dating Channel and Gaydate TV

dating.jpgMobile dating isn’t big yet, but it will be. And I don’t mean people ringing wrong numbers, getting chatting and ending up married either. Although that’s heartwarming, obviously.

No, digital TV channels The Dating Channel and Gaydate TV are launching a new 3G video-dating service. It involves calling the shortcode 80228, and recording a video profile of yourself (“Hi, I’m 27, like eating guinea pigs and daubing walls in my own bodily fluids, and fear chives. Looking for similar.”)

Fall Out Boy and Gym Class Heroes get mobloggy at the MTV VMAs

If you’re hotwired into pop culture like an electric scenester (or something), you’ll be aware of yesterday’s MTV VMAs, one of the glitzier awards shindigs in the music world.

It’s increasingly one of the most gadgety too, what with mobile simulcasts, Twittering stars, and now the news that emo stars Fall Out Boy were moblogging the whole thing using their cameraphones.

Apple has announced that it sold its millionth iPhone yesterday, taking it past the million mark 74 days after its launch in June.

“One million iPhones in 74 days – it took almost two years to achieve this milestone with iPod,” says Steve Jobs. What’ll be interesting is to see how long it now takes to hit two million sales, what with the $200 price drop that was announced last week, and an upcoming launch in Europe.

Takara to bring GP43 satnav device to Europe

It’s a fact that the Big Three of the satnav world (Garmin, TomTom, Navman) sell the majority of GPS navigation devices, but there are loads of firms scrapping it out behind them. One is Takara, which has announced plans to sell its new GP43 device in Europe.

It’s got a 4.3-inch widescreen display, and ships with European maps from Navteq on a 1GB SD card. It’s also got speed camera and radar locations preloaded, with free updates. Oh, and there’s Bluetooth, and the ability to play MPEG4 videos, MP3 music and display JPG photos.

You've read about the USB Humping Dog… Now buy it!

There are millions of rubbish USB gadgets, but the USB Humping Dog will at least raise a chuckle. We first wrote about it in December last year, when it was just another silly Japanese gadget that you’d never be able to buy over here.

Well, it’s still a silly Japanese gadget, but Digital World Tokyo has just started selling the sex-starved plug-in pooches for export to Europe and the US. They cost $17.95 per dog plus shipping, and you’ll get a random selection of a Beagle, Dalmation or Chocolate Labrador.

Broadcast from your blog with Selfcast's new widget

selfcast.jpgP2P broadcasting service Selfcast has launched a new widget, allowing people to embed their channel in any blog or social networking profile.

It takes the form of a badge that’s available in three sizes: a button, static video image or full-size media player. Selfcast suggests that it could be used by bands to broadcast live gigs on their MySpace profiles, or local councils to embed planning meetings on their website.
