Google put Olympic medal tables on mobile site. Now you can watch Olympic dreams die whilst on the go

The trouble with the Olympics is that it is just too big. There’s so many sports to keep track of and they go on for so long, is it really possible to keep an eye out for your favourite minority sport? Are you really willing to endure all of that track cycling whilst you wait for the Handball to start? (Whatever Handball is?) Luckily, Google has got you covered – it has optimised it’s mobile site for the duration of the games…

Asus announce "brown" Eee PC

browneee.jpg

Another day, another new ultra-portable laptop from Asus, and another one of the 23 secret Eee models revealed. Today’s is one of the most high-end – the S101 which has been described as an “Ultimate” Eee PC.

It’s pretty high-end stuff for an Asus so there’s suggestions that it won’t actually carry the Eee PC branding as obviously ‘Eee’ makes one think of cheap netbooks and, er, monitors and not high-end luxury…

Nissan develop Spidey-sense for cars. Cars will now sense danger so you don't have to.

Yesterday Nissan previewed a clever new sensor technology that does more than just beep when you’re in imminent danger – it actually intervenes a little bit.

Sensors are put into the driver’s blind spots – typically to the immediate sides and just behind the driver’s seat – to detect if you’re getting dangerously close to any other vehicles. Presumably if the technology is adapted for white vans, this mean will mean that everywhere but straight-ahead will be covered in danger sensors…

"I am rich"? Not anymore.

Remember the “I am rich” iPhone app story we reported yesterday? Y’know, about how someone had the bright idea of selling an iPhone app for $1000 that does nothing but illustrate how ludicrously wealthy you are.

24 hours later and it has already been taken off of the iPhone application store. Whilst the exact reason for the removal is unknown, it probably had something to do with the fact that idiots were actually buying it…

The "Le Million" mobile phone probably isn't available on PAYG

Earlier today I wrote about an iPhone app for the wealthy called “I am rich“, and stupidly suggested that the iPhone is the phone that rich people would go for. I’m now preparing to eat my words.

It turns out that luxury communications firm Goldvish have come up with “Le Million”… a million dollar mobile phone, which qualifies it as the world record for the most expensive mobile phone in the world…

Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you expensive iPhone apps

Picture the scene: you’re well off, have a lot of money, a fancy car and you’ll even admit in public to voting for the Conservative Party. But something’s missing… what else can you do to boast about your decadent lifestyle and make the poor hate you even more?

You could try and get a posh mobile phone… but then, the fanciest phone on the market is the iPhone, and even paupers can afford one of those these days. You need something else to really set yourself apart from the riff-raff.

There’s a new application available for the iPhone called “I am Rich”. It’ll set you back $1000 and it does… absolutely nothing…
