MEDION X6001Officially launched at IFA in Berlin, Medion’s first phablet, the Medion X6001 (pictured above), is now available from the Medion UK webshop and through selected online and retail partners for £250. The Medion X6001 features Android™ 5.1, Lollipop and boasts a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor and 2 GB of RAM.

The slim 7.9 mm phablet has a large 15.24 cm / 6″ HD display with IPS technology and resolution of 1,920 x 1,080pixels. For extra convenience, the Medion X6001 also supports inductive charging without the use of a cable.

On board is a 13 MP digital camera with flash, autofocus and digital zoom on the back. The Medion X6001 is also equipped with an 8 MP front camera with flash for selfies and video chatting. The 32 GB internal memory provides plenty of space for movies, music or photos.

At IFA, Medion also presented its first 4G high-end smartphone. The £220 Medion X5020 features Android™ 5.0, Lollipop andwill be available in black and white. Corning Gorilla Glass protects the front as well as the back against scratches and hits. While the black model comes with a grey metal frame, the white model is available in two versions, either with a silver or with a rose-gold frame.

Thanks to the powerful 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor as well as 3 GB of RAM the Medion X5020 can, claims the manufacturer, handle even the most demanding apps and games. The large 12.7 cm / 5″ full HD display with IPS technology and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 boasts a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. On the back there’s a13 MP camera with flash, autofocus and digital zoom and on the front a 5 MP front camera for selfies and video chats. The 32 GB internal memory provides enough space for movies, music or photos but it can be expanded to up to 128 GB with a microSD or microSDHC memory card.

Medion claims the 2600 mAh Li-ion battery runs for a long talking time of up to 440 minutes and for up to 185 hours in standby. One handy feature is the dual SIM function which allows for two micro-SIM cards, so that two phone numbers can be used in parallel.

Later this year, Medion will also offer a 4G smartphone in black equipped with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. Called the X5004 it will cost approximately £180.
