The launch of the new talk programming to Deezer’s music streaming service means listeners can now access a network of music, news and entertainment from around the world – all in one place. The launch marks the integration of radio programming from Stitcher, the leading radio and podcast app acquired by Deezer last October.

“Deezer is pairing the best news and entertainment with the largest music catalogue in the world to become the leading service for on demand music, radio and podcasts,” said Hans-Holger Albrecht, CEO of Deezer. “This move signals our commitment to leading innovation, with a vision of becoming a single destination for audio, tailor-made for each listener. We’ll continue to roll out new programming in additional regions throughout the year.”

Deezer has 16 million active users including six million paying subscribers, making it the second biggest pureplay streaming-music service behind Spotify, which has 60 million active users including 15 million subscribers. But both are preparing for the launch of rival services from Apple and Google/YouTube in the months ahead which could impact their businesses significantly.
