Sony quietly launched its latest Sony Xperia Z3+ yesterday. Here are 6 things you need to know about the new (and only slightly improved) flagship model:

1. The Xperia Z3+ has the same height and width dimensions as its predecessor (146mm x 72mm), but is thinner than the Z3 (6.9mm as opposed to 7.3mm). It also weighs less – 144g rather than 152g

2. Design is a little sleeker while still remaining waterproof and dustproof. Sony has got rid of the magnetic charging pin and removed the flap over the USB port

3. Although the The Z3+ has the same 5.2-inch Full HD 1080p “triluminous” display as the Z3, and the same 20.7MP rear camera, it’s front-facing (selfie) camera has been upgraded from a 2.2MP sensor to 5MP sensor with a wider field of view

4. The 16GB internal storage option has been ditched and the Z3+ will now come with 32GB of built-in storage, while RAM remains at 3GB

5. Its biggest competitors are the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and the HTC One M9, which itself is a very minor upgrade to the 2014 edition

6. Rather confusingly the new model is called the Z4 in Japan but the Z3+ elsewhere
