Google Glass meets sports with Recon Jet glasses

Whilst Google Glass never really found an audience, the heads-up technology could surely find use in more niche applications like in industry or, as Recon Jet suggests, in sports.

The new eyewear does the sorts of things you might expect a wristband to do – like track your lap times, or distance travelled, but instead displays it right in front of your face. This means that like the bloke in the video above, you won’t have to stop running to check your stats.

It’ll even display a map, alert you to calls, and let you control your music. There’s even a built-in camera for taking photos on your run.

As you might imagine, all this tech comes at a price. The glasses, which come in white or black are $699 – or about £500.
