WATCH: Netflix running on an original NES

Check out the above video, which claims to show the efforts of two engineers at a recent Netflix hackday, who managed to get the VOD platform running on a supposedly unmodified original NES.

It isn’t clear exactly how they’ve done it. Presumably there is some hardware either feeding data to the console or the cartridge, doing the heavy work of compressing and converting the video to something a NES can display, as well as reading the meta-data to generate the menu.

Or they just made it all up of course and it is just a fancy animation with no actual clever software behind it.
