Mclaren-570S-10.0Luxury British car brand McLaren has (albeit unofficially) revealed its latest super car, the 570S Coupé, ahead of the New York motor show which starts tomorrow (April 1st). A member of McLaren’s entry-level Sports Series family, it is the most affordable model in McLaren’s line up but will still set you back a cool £130,000!

As its name suggests, peak power is 570PS (562bhp) from a mid-mounted, 3.8-litre V8 with twin turbochargers. Peak power is developed at 7,400rpm, with 443lb ft of torque from 5,000-6,500rpm. The 570S accelerates from 0-62mph in 3.2sec and to 124mph (200kmh) in 9.5 sec, with a top speed of 204mph. The 570S, which is set to compete with cars such as the Audi R8 and Porsche 911 Turbo, delivers fuel economy of 25.5mpg on the official EU Combined cycle, with CO2 emissions of 258g/km.

The car was first shown off to press behind closed doors back in January. McLaren reportedly banned photos of the car at the event, but some have surfaced, showing beautifully sleek bodywork.

McLaren CEO Mike Flewitt says that he expects double-digit growth for the company as the new, more affordable model makes McLaren an option to the rich, as well as the super-rich. We should get to see more pics from this week’s New York Auto Show when the 570S is officially unveiled.
