This smart bed cover sounds stupid… but you’re probably going to want one

Check out Luna, which has recently smashed its fundraising goal on IndieGoGo. Its a mattress cover that is packed with sensors and will, the makers claim, help you sleep better.

Whilst you sleep it will monitor your heart rate, breathing rate and sleep cycle, and will adjust the temperature of the bed to optimise your sleep. Brilliantly for couples, it can warm both sides of the bed independently so you can have it how you like it.

There’s also a smart alarm function built into the associated app, which will wake you up gently when it detects light sleeping, and the app will also integrate with your other internet-of-things devices to, say, switch off all of your lights when you go to sleep or start up the wifi coffee machine in the morning.

Sounds pretty clever, right? Luna looks set to set you back about $200 (about £130) when it launches in August.
