Is this confirmation that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will have a QuadHD screen?

New evidence suggests that Samsung’s next flagship handset will come complete with a QuadHD – or 2K – screen.

This is a Note 4, not a Galaxy S6.
This is a Note 4, not a Galaxy S6.

This would mean the screen runs at 1440×2560 resolution – which is the step between 1080p HD and 4K (which is 4x1080p). Not coincidentally, this is the resolution of the Galaxy Note 4 screen.

The reason we’re now more sure about this, despite having heard nothing official from Samsung (not even confirmation that the phone exists) is because according to GSM Arena, the “user agent profile” – in other words, the data that the phone’s browser sends to websites – tells us that.

We’re expecting to start hearing official things about the phone relatively soon – perhaps around March to coincide with the Mobile World Congress trade show in Spain – as that would also align with the launches of the S5 and S4. We’ll keep you posted.
