Today’s the day: The first pack of downloadable content for Assassin’s Creed: Unity is now available, and you can download it for free.
It wasn’t always meant to be this way, of course – but the game’s disastrous launch saw the DLC get a five-fingered discount in an attempt to placate games angry that Ubisoft had dared launch what is in effect an unfinished game. The develop has since released a massive patch, and given out free games to stop people complaining about the myriad of bugs.
In the new DLC, titled “Dead Kings”, the extra single player missions include one where you have go to and find one of the most important figures in the revolution, Thomas Paine, who wrote the Rights of Man, which articulated the shift in the conception of individual rights that was underway at the time.
So go download it now, if you can face heading back into the game.
