Is Advanced Warfare not selling as well as Ghosts?

Oh dear – despite stepping things up a notch critically, it seems that this year’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare isn’t performing as well as last year’s Ghosts.

The conventional thinking had been that AW is an an improvement on Call of Duty: Ghosts, and critically it does seem to be (thanks, Kevin Spacey) – but according to Street Insider analysts actual November Activision sales are down 22% on November 2013.

Whilst getting concrete numbers is hard to pin down (could other Activision titles be affecting the number?), and the “NPD” figures don’t include digital download sales, it doesn’t look good – Ghosts last year was already significantly down on 2012’s Modern Warfare 3 too.

Does this suggest that the gaming public is tiring of Call of Duty? Or could this just be a blip?
