Pebble has just released updated software for its smartwatch to add in support for Android Wear notification – supercharging the watch in the process.
Despite being the young upstarts, it was perhaps easy to assume that Pebble was under threat by the rise of the Apple Watch and Android Wear, which offer deeper integration with their host operating systems – but it seems Pebble have solved the problem by offering support for the latter platform.
This means that now if you’ve got an Android phone you’ll be able to give contextual responses – for example, muting Facebook messages or even sending responses to texts, all through the power of the watch. Brilliant.
The update is available now. The only downside is that it is going to make iPhone Pebble owners intensely jealous.
