Good news for Call of Duty fans who haven’t yet upgraded to the latest console generation: It appears as though this year’s instalment, Advanced Warfare, will also be receiving the “cross-buy” treatment.

Cross-buy has been announced for players on PS3 and PS4 in the US, and let’s players upgrade from the PS3 edition to the PS4 edition at a reduced price – and also lets players take with them all of their multiplayer stats and upgrades and so on.

The functionality was previously used on last year’s Call of Duty Ghosts that saw both PS3 and PS4 players and Xbox 360 and Xbox One players able to transfer (though not Xbox->Playstation and vice-versa – staying within the same console family).

Whllst the scheme has so-far only been announced for the US, we’ll be pretty stunned if the same thing doesn’t also happen over here, and on Xbox too.
