The long-awaited streaming device will make its debut in the US on October 14, and in the UK and Europe on November 14.

Making the announcement at the games trade show in Cologne, Germany, Sony said that the box would hit Europe on November 14, priced at €99 (about £78), which included three game downloads.

The UK price is yet to be confirmed, but is is expected to be about £100.

PlayStation TV is the former Vita TV, which launched in Japan last year.

The device can play a selection of PS Vita games in addition to digital PSOne and PS Portable games.

Through Remote Play, it can be used to stream PS4 games from a console in your home onto a separate television that the PlayStation TV is connected to.

The device also provides access to entertainment content through the PlayStation Network, and will get support for the PlayStation Now streaming service.

Sony said that PlayStation Now will be coming to Europe and the UK in 2015, with UK residents being invited to the first beta for the service in Europe.

A specific date for the beta was not revealed.
